Donegal Project
The Donegal Project stands as the cornerstone of Western Australian Gold Resources Limited’s (WAGR) portfolio, rooted in the historic goldfields of Paddy Lawler’s 1894 discovery.
This highly prospective asset blends a rich legacy with modern exploration potential, encompassing a tenement package that includes five historic gold mines operational from the 1890s to 1930s. In the late 1990s, Barrick Gold estimated an inferred resource of 10,199 ounces at 2.81 g/t—a figure that, at today’s record-high gold prices, translates to an in-ground value of approximately A$45 million (using a 1.0 g/t to 15 g/t cut-off).
WAGR is now driving this project forward, updating the resource to JORC 2012 standards and expanding its scope to capitalize on a gold market that’s vastly more lucrative than the $540/oz era of Barrick’s estimate.
With its strategic location and near-term development prospects, Donegal is poised to anchor WAGR’s growth trajectory.

Exploration Strategy
Exploration at Donegal is a blend of honoring its past and unlocking its future. Historical underground mining left behind a legacy of high-grade intercepts, and modern efforts are now revealing the asset’s true scale. WAGR’s systematic approach includes detailed geological mapping, soil sampling, and drilling campaigns to refine the resource beyond Barrick’s initial estimate. The current JORC 2012 update is a pivotal step, aiming to increase the cut-off grade and confirm a larger, economically viable deposit. With gold prices soaring, every ounce uncovered here strengthens WAGR’s position as an emerging producer.
Project Development
Donegal isn’t just a prospect—it’s a project on the cusp of transformation. WAGR is advancing feasibility studies to assess production viability, leveraging the asset’s proximity to existing infrastructure and a skilled mining workforce in Western Australia. The focus is on fast-tracking development, with plans to establish Donegal as a high-grade, cost-effective operation. This asset’s potential to deliver near-term cash flow makes it a linchpin in WAGR’s strategy to become a mid-tier gold producer.
